The GST MP3M-GF is a gas-fuel High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF-GF) system designed for manual application of powder feedstock.
The GST MP3M-GF is a gas-fuel High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF-GF) system designed for manual application of powder feedstock. The system is configured as a compact, mobile solution and includes the following main equipment:
Oxygen, LPG/propane and compressed air are conditioned and routed through the MP3M control system to the GST DJ2700M spray gun. The powder feeder meters the coating material and conveys it with argon or nitrogen to the axial powder-injection zone. During HVOF-GF spraying, combustion of oxygen and gaseous fuel generates a high-pressure, high-velocity gas stream. The powder particles are rapidly heated and accelerated toward the prepared substrate, where their high kinetic energy produces flattened splats that build up into a dense coating. The operator monitors working pressures and gas flow rates at the control panel and performs the spray operation manually; the gun design also allows mechanized or robotic mounting.
In the HVOF-GF process, oxygen and gaseous fuel are mixed at controlled flow rates and combusted to generate a high-pressure gas stream. Expansion through the gun nozzle accelerates the combustion products to very high velocity. Powder is injected axially into the energetic core of the jet by an inert carrier gas. Because particle residence time in the hot zone is very short, the process combines controlled thermal input with high kinetic energy: particles can reach a softened or semi-molten state without requiring complete melting before impact.
On impact with the prepared substrate, the accelerated particles deform and interlock with the surface and with previously deposited splats. Successive passes build the coating to the required thickness. The high particle velocity and short thermal exposure characteristic of HVOF are widely used to produce dense, strongly bonded coatings with low porosity and limited oxidation. Typical HVOF feedstocks include carbide-based powders and metallic or alloy powders; final spray parameters must be developed for the specific material, particle-size distribution, substrate and required coating properties.
The MP3M-GF is configured as a compact gas-fuel HVOF platform centered on the GST DJ2700M spray gun, manual process control, volumetric powder feeding, gas/air conditioning and mobile installation. Oxygen, LPG/propane and compressed air are supplied through dedicated regulation and control circuits, while argon or nitrogen is used as powder carrier gas. The optional LPG vaporizer is selected when the available cylinder vaporization capacity is insufficient for sustained HVOF fuel demand.
Unlike a fully automated MP 3000 production cell, the MP3M-GF prioritizes straightforward manual operation, portability and direct operator control. At the same time, the DJ2700M can be mounted on mechanized or robotic equipment when controlled gun motion is required.

The GST DJ2700M is an industrial HVOF spray gun for applying powder coatings. It is designed for stable operation and straightforward maintenance and can be used as a handheld gun or mounted on mechanized and robotic systems. In the proposed MP3M-GF configuration, LPG/propane is used as the fuel gas.
Powder is introduced through an internal axial-feed arrangement, keeping the feedstock concentrated in the core of the high-velocity jet. The water-cooled mixing and combustion sections provide efficient heat removal from the gun hardware and support stable generation of the high-energy gas stream. In gas-fuel HVOF, the particles are exposed to a high-velocity combustion jet for a short dwell time: they are heated sufficiently for plastic deformation while retaining a high level of kinetic energy. This combination supports the formation of dense, well-bonded coatings with low porosity and limited oxidation. Axial hose connections keep the gun assembly compact and service-friendly, while optional mounting arrangements support mechanized or robotic operation.

The MP3M control panel provides centralized monitoring and adjustment of oxygen, fuel-gas and compressed-air supply to the GST DJ2700M gun. It gives the operator direct indication of working pressures and flow rates, permits independent adjustment of the process-gas streams and incorporates the primary safety functions required for HVOF operation.
The panel is equipped with three pressure gauges for oxygen, fuel gas and compressed air. Supply pressure is preset by the regulators at the gas sources and by the compressed-air preparation unit. Oxygen, fuel-gas and air flow rates are monitored by individual flowmeters calibrated in standard litres per minute (SLPM) and are adjusted using needle valves.

Minimum-pressure interlocks for compressed air and fuel gas prevent gun ignition until the preset safe supply conditions are reached.
A flashback arrestor in the oxygen line reduces the risk of flame propagation back into the oxygen supply system.
A check valve in the fuel-gas line prevents reverse gas flow into the control panel.

The powder feeder is a volumetric metering unit designed to provide stable, controlled delivery of powder feedstock. The powder feed rate is adjusted independently, while powder feed can be switched on and off automatically as part of the spray sequence.
Powder is metered by a rotating disc. Disc operating conditions are selected according to the feedstock characteristics and required delivery rate. The carrier gas then conveys the metered powder through the hose to the GST DJ2700M HVOF spray gun.
Powder-feed control and operating-parameter adjustment are integrated with the overall MP3M system controls.

The compressed-air preparation unit removes oil and moisture from the incoming air supply and stabilizes the working pressure. It includes two filtration stages installed in series and a pressure regulator. Compressed-air connection: 3/8 in.
3 channels
Oxygen, LPG/propane, nitrogen
The gas control unit incorporates high-capacity two-stage regulators for oxygen and fuel gas to maintain stable supply pressure and flow under HVOF operating demand. A separate regulator is provided for nitrogen used as the powder carrier gas. When multiple gas cylinders are used, a cylinder manifold is recommended to provide adequate flow capacity and more stable supply conditions.

3 lines
Compressed air, oxygen, fuel gas
The hose set comprises three matched flexible process lines with the appropriate fittings for the GST DJ2700M gun: a black hose for compressed air and a twin gas hose, with blue for oxygen and red for fuel gas. The fittings maintain separate connections between the control panel and the spray gun. Before final connection to the gun, the gas lines must be purged in accordance with the operating manual.

The wheeled mobile trolley is designed for compact installation of the control panel, powder feeder and, when the corresponding option is selected, the LPG vaporizer. The frame also provides space for practical storage and routing of gas hoses and the spray gun.

The LPG vaporizer converts liquid LPG/propane into a controlled vapor phase before the fuel reaches the HVOF gas-regulation circuit. LPG is stored as a pressurized liquid and must absorb heat to change phase into vapor. At the high and continuous fuel demand associated with HVOF operation, natural vaporization in individual cylinders can become insufficient, particularly at low ambient temperature or as the cylinder level falls. The vaporizer supplies the required heat through a controlled heat-exchange process, helping prevent cylinder chilling, excessive pressure drop and unstable fuel delivery. The resulting gaseous LPG is then routed to the pressure-regulation stage and the MP3M control panel. Vaporization temperature is controlled to maintain a stable gas phase and consistent downstream fuel conditions. The exact heating method and vaporizer capacity are selected according to the LPG supply arrangement and required fuel flow.
The MP3M-GF is intended for HVOF application of powder coatings where high particle velocity, controlled thermal input and compact manual equipment are required. Final suitability depends on the powder chemistry and particle size, substrate material, surface preparation, coating specification, component geometry, spray distance and qualified process parameters.
Application of WC- and Cr3C2-based HVOF coatings for parts exposed to abrasion, sliding wear, erosion or combined wear mechanisms.
Deposition of metallic and alloy powders for corrosion protection, dimensional restoration and functional surface engineering.
Manual coating of shafts, sleeves, rods, valve components, pump parts, tooling and other repairable industrial components where localized access is advantageous.
Protective HVOF coatings for machine components requiring improved surface durability; coating selection and process parameters must be qualified for each application.
The GST MP3M-GF is a compact manual gas-fuel HVOF powder spray system built around the GST DJ2700M gun, MP3M control panel, powder feeder, gas and air preparation equipment, hoses and a mobile trolley.
The proposed configuration uses LPG/propane as the fuel gas and oxygen as the oxidizer.
The documented operating ranges are 250-280 SLPM oxygen, 40-80 SLPM LPG/propane and 350-600 SLPM compressed air through the gun. Powder carrier gas is argon at 0.4-20 L/min or nitrogen at 0.28-14 L/min.
HVOF creates a continuous fuel demand that may exceed the natural vaporization capacity of an LPG cylinder, especially at low ambient temperature or as the cylinder cools during use. A properly sized vaporizer adds controlled heat so liquid LPG is converted into a stable vapor phase before downstream pressure regulation and delivery to the HVOF system.
Yes. The system is primarily intended for manual spraying, but the DJ2700M gun design also permits mechanized or robotic mounting when a controlled motion system is required.
The system uses a volumetric powder feeder with a rotating metering disc. Powder is conveyed to the gun using argon or nitrogen carrier gas, and 1.5 L or 5.0 L hopper configurations are specified.
The MP3M package includes minimum-pressure interlocks for compressed air and fuel gas, an oxygen-line flashback arrestor and a fuel-gas check valve. Final installation must also comply with the applicable site gas-safety, ventilation and operating requirements.
The source configuration describes the LPG vaporizer as an option. Its need and capacity should be selected according to the LPG supply arrangement, ambient conditions and required continuous fuel flow.
