The GST DCst-M is a standalone extraction, filtration and ventilation unit built around a cartridge-filter housing and a centrifugal (radial) fan located in an acoustic enclosure. Dust-laden process air is filtered through the cartridge stage, after which the cleaned air is discharged to atmosphere.
The supplied DCst-M characteristics specify an airflow capacity of 17,000 m³/h and 16 filter cartridges. The cartridges use antistatic-coated polyester media and are specified to F9 filtration class according to EN779. At a maximum inlet dust concentration of 2 g/m³, the stated dust-removal efficiency is at least 95% for particles with d ≥ 0.4 µm.
Cartridge regeneration is carried out automatically using compressed air. The control cabinet activates the solenoid valves, and the unit performs sequential pulse cleaning of each filter cartridge individually. Dust removed from the cartridges is directed into the hopper and collected in a pull-out trolley below the filter housing.
The DCst-M is specified for ambient temperatures from -30 to +40 °C and a maximum filtered-air temperature of 100 °C. The stated sound level is no more than 80 dB measured at 1 m from the installation.
Key benefits
- 17,000 m³/h nominal airflow for higher-capacity industrial extraction duties.
- 16 filter cartridges provide increased filtration capacity compared with the DCst-S configuration.
- F9 filtration class is specified in the supplied technical data.
- Polyester cartridges with antistatic coating are used throughout the filter stage.
- Automatic compressed-air regeneration supports continuous maintenance of cartridge performance.
- One-by-one sequential pulse cleaning provides controlled cleaning of the complete cartridge bank.
- 0.2 m³ removable dust trolley enables contained handling of collected particulate.
- Integrated stainless-steel explosion-relief panels and activation sensing provide dedicated pressure-relief safety features.
- Flame-arresting non-return valve is included in the system configuration.
- Acoustic fan enclosure supports a stated maximum noise level of 80 dB at 1 m.
Operating Principle
Contaminated process air is drawn into the DCst-M cartridge-filter housing, where airborne particulate is retained by the filter media. A centrifugal fan installed in an acoustic enclosure maintains the required system airflow, and the filtered air is discharged to atmosphere after passing through the filtration stage.
The supplied design data lists a hydraulic resistance of 5,000 Pa. This pressure drop is part of the extraction-system duty and must be considered together with the specified 17,000 m³/h airflow when integrating the unit into the associated ductwork and process installation.
Filter Cleaning and Dust Collection
The 16-cartridge filter bank is regenerated automatically by compressed-air pulses. Solenoid valves are activated from the DCst-M control cabinet, and the cartridges are cleaned in sequence rather than simultaneously.
Dust released during regeneration drops into the hopper and is collected in one removable trolley with a volume of 0.2 m³. The trolley is positioned beneath the hopper for withdrawal and dust disposal.
Safety Features
- Stainless-steel explosion-relief safety panels.
- Explosion-relief panel activation sensor.
- Flame-arresting non-return valve.
- Automatic sequential pulse cleaning of individual filter cartridges.
Applications
The DCst-M is suited to higher-airflow industrial dust extraction and filtration duties associated with thermal spray and surface-treatment processes. Its 17,000 m³/h capacity and 16-cartridge arrangement make it appropriate where the connected process requires greater exhaust volume than the DCst-S configuration.
- Larger thermal spray booths and automated coating cells.
- Centralized extraction for HVOF, plasma spray and flame-spray overspray.
- Surface-treatment installations requiring 17,000 m³/h nominal airflow.
- Process areas requiring automatic pulse-cleaned cartridge filtration with integrated explosion-relief features.
FAQ
What distinguishes the DCst-M from the lower-capacity DCst-S unit?
The supplied DCst-M data specifies 17,000 m³/h airflow and 16 cartridges, while the DCst-S data specifies 13,000 m³/h and 12 cartridges.
What dust-removal efficiency is stated for the DCst-M?
The specification states at least 95% for particles with d ≥ 0.4 µm when the inlet dust concentration does not exceed 2 g/m³.
What temperatures can the DCst-M handle?
The stated ambient operating range is -30 to +40 °C, and the maximum temperature of the filtered air is 100 °C.
Does the DCst-M include explosion-relief hardware?
Yes. The supplied configuration includes stainless-steel explosion-relief panels and a sensor for detecting panel activation.
Is a flame-arresting device included?
Yes. A flame-arresting non-return valve is listed in the supplied technical specification.
