The GST DCst-S is an extraction, filtration and ventilation unit designed as a standalone cartridge-filter system with a centrifugal (radial) fan installed inside an acoustic enclosure. The unit is intended to extract dust-laden process air, filter it through cartridge elements and discharge the cleaned air to atmosphere.
The DCst-S provides a nominal airflow capacity of 13,000 m³/h and uses 12 filter cartridges. The filter media is polyester with an antistatic coating, while the specified filtration class is F9 according to EN779. Under the stated inlet condition of no more than 2 g/m³ dust concentration, the specified dust-removal efficiency is at least 95% for particles with d ≥ 0.4 µm.
Filter regeneration is automatic. Compressed air is released through solenoid valves on a signal from the DCst-S control cabinet, and the cartridges are cleaned sequentially one by one. Dust dislodged from the filter elements falls into a pull-out collection trolley installed beneath the hopper.
The system is specified for ambient operation from -30 to +40 °C and for filtered-air temperatures up to 100 °C. The maximum stated noise level is 80 dB at a distance of 1 m from the unit.
Key benefits
- 13,000 m³/h nominal extraction capacity for industrial dust-removal duties.
- 12 cartridge filters provide a large filtration stage within a dedicated standalone housing.
- F9 filtration class according to the supplied technical specification.
- Antistatic polyester filter media for dust-handling applications.
- Automatic compressed-air pulse regeneration reduces the need for manual cartridge cleaning.
- Sequential cleaning of each cartridge individually supports continued filter maintenance during operation.
- Integrated dust collection in a 0.2 m³ pull-out trolley simplifies removal of collected particulate.
- Explosion-relief panels, activation monitoring and a flame-arresting non-return valve are included in the supplied safety configuration.
- Centrifugal fan in an acoustic enclosure helps limit the stated sound level to no more than 80 dB at 1 m.
Operating Principle
Dust-laden air enters the DCst-S filter housing and passes through the cartridge-filter stage. Particulate is retained on the filter media, while the centrifugal fan provides the airflow required to move the cleaned air through the system and discharge it to atmosphere.
The specified hydraulic resistance of the filtration system is 5,000 Pa. The fan and filter housing therefore operate as a combined extraction and filtration assembly, with the fan located inside a noise-protection enclosure.
Filter Cleaning and Dust Collection
As dust accumulates on the cartridge surfaces, the control cabinet initiates automatic compressed-air regeneration. Solenoid valves pulse the cleaning air to the cartridges sequentially, one cartridge at a time, dislodging accumulated particulate from the filter surface.
The released dust falls downward into the hopper and then into a removable 0.2 m³ dust-collection trolley. This arrangement separates filter cleaning from manual dust handling and allows the collected material to be removed from the unit using the pull-out trolley.
Safety Features
- Stainless-steel explosion-relief safety panels.
- Explosion-relief panel activation sensor.
- Flame-arresting non-return valve.
- Automatic sequential pulse cleaning of individual filter cartridges.
Applications
The DCst-S is intended for industrial extraction and filtration systems where process dust must be captured, filtered and collected in a dedicated cartridge unit. In the global-sft.com equipment range, it is suitable for integration with thermal spray and related surface-treatment installations requiring centralized dust removal.
- Thermal spray booths and coating cells requiring centralized dust extraction.
- HVOF, plasma spray and flame-spray installations with dry particulate and overspray.
- Surface-treatment cells connected to a dedicated cartridge-filter unit.
- Industrial process areas requiring automatic filter regeneration and enclosed dust collection.
FAQ
How much air can the DCst-S process?
The supplied specification states a nominal airflow capacity of 13,000 m³/h.
How many filter cartridges are installed in the DCst-S?
The DCst-S uses 12 filter cartridges.
What filter media is specified for this model?
The filter cartridges use polyester media with an antistatic coating.
How are the cartridges cleaned?
Cleaning is automatic. Compressed-air pulses are activated through solenoid valves by the DCst-S control cabinet, and each cartridge is cleaned sequentially.
Where does the removed dust go after pulse cleaning?
The dislodged dust falls into a pull-out dust-collection trolley located beneath the hopper. The trolley volume is 0.2 m³.
What is the maximum stated noise level?
The supplied technical data specifies no more than 80 dB at a distance of 1 m from the unit.
