MP 30M-AP – Mobile Atmospheric Plasma Spray System

Gas Supply and Regulation Module

The gas module supplies, regulates, filters, and monitors plasma-forming and carrier gases. It uses closed-loop high-precision mass-flow control and includes dedicated circuits for argon, hydrogen, and nitrogen, together with pressure monitoring, regulators, check valves, gauges, calibration functions, and gas filtration.

Control and Distribution Module

This module forms the connection interface between the mobile process cabinet and the plasma torch. It manages plasma-gas circuits, high-voltage ignition, cooling-water connections, and auxiliary process interfaces.

Electrical Control Module

The electrical module contains the PLC hardware and software used to coordinate the APS system. Closed-loop algorithms manage critical parameters, while communication and I/O interfaces support integration with robots, cooling units, filtration systems, and other external modules.

Mobile Industrial Enclosure

The functional modules are integrated into a compact enclosure mounted on a mobile platform. This architecture simplifies movement and deployment while maintaining industrial protection and separation of gas and electrical functions.

Optional / Project-Specific Integration

Depending on the application, the MP 30M-AP can be expanded with industrial robots, workpiece positioners, soundproof spray booths, ventilation and filtration systems, additional monitoring equipment, and other process-support modules.

Plasma guns

The MP 30M-AP software architecture supports different plasma torches, such as the F1 and F4, and stores predefined operating limits for each supported torch.

F1-45° / F1-90°

The F1 plasma gun is specifically designed for coating internal surfaces and other difficult-to-access areas. It is suitable for components with an internal diameter of 75 mm or greater and can be used for coating internal surfaces at depths of up to 495 mm. The gun body is manufactured from specially selected materials to minimize the influence of electrical fields on the plasma spraying process and to ensure stable operation during internal-diameter coating applications.

Depending on the configuration, the F1 plasma gun is available with a plasma jet angle of 45° or 90° relative to the longitudinal axis of the gun, allowing effective coating of different internal geometries.

F4MBXL / F4MBXL-90

The F4MBXL is a versatile, general-purpose plasma gun designed for a wide range of thermal spray applications. It is suitable for applying various functional and protective coatings, including wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, hardfacing, thermal-resistant and other engineered coating systems.

The F4MBXL series can be used for coating both external and internal surfaces of components. Depending on the selected configuration, the plasma jet can be directed at different angles relative to the workpiece surface, providing flexibility for components with complex geometries and varying accessibility requirements.

Process control & software

The MP 30M-AP uses a PLC-based control architecture designed to provide stable long-term operation, process transparency, and traceability. Critical parameters are continuously monitored and displayed through the HMI.

The software stores approved operating ranges for supported plasma torches. This protection concept helps prevent operation outside validated conditions and supports process reliability, equipment safety, and coating repeatability.
